Hans Johansson

Hans Johansson (1921) is a member of SIR (the Swedish Interior Architects’ Association), a furniture designer and interior design consultant. He has worked for Gunnar Eklöf, NK Inredning and Sven Kai-Larsen, and received interior design commissions from the Swedish National Property Board for a number of embassies. He began working with Karl Andersson & Söner in the 80s. Hans Johansson is a furniture designer with a distinctive style, who has stubbornly persisted in developing the pared-down constructivist idiom that he first worked on back in the 1960s while a member of the HI group. He developed the Tema table series for Karl Andersson & Söner in 1987 – a construction with parts that fit together without screws, hardware, or the need for any special tools.
